United Energy Pakistan selects KMI’s EHS Software Suite including Incident Management, Audit & Inspection, and Compliance Management
(Toronto, ON) July 12, 2012 – United Energy Pakistan (UEP) has awarded a contract to KMI for the implementation of an EHS Management Information System (EMIS). KMI’s system will manage the reporting cycle for all workplace injuries and illnesses, audits and inspections for all onshore and offshore locations, as well as external and internal regulations to ensure the company is in full compliance. KMI won the contract after a long and comprehensive selection process conducted by UEP and an external consultant. Both UEP’s safety and environmental personnel were involved in the selection process and are excited to begin working with the new application.
Javaid Ansari, Applications and Data Manager, said “Once KMI was selected, we were on a tight timeline due to our change in ownership. The KMI team was in Pakistan to initiate the implementation process. Their track record in our industry is impressive. Additionally, there are some unique factors of operating a business here. Together we have developed a system that is perfectly tailored to our business needs.”
Matt Airhart, President & CEO at KMI, mentioned “The logistics of doing business with a 10-hour time difference really showed the character and dedication of both teams. The intuitive and user-friendly software was a win-win for both ends of the user spectrum while also at a competitive cost. UEP was confident moving forward with KMI due to our extensive experience in the oil & gas sector.”
UEP assumed control of oil and gas exploration and production assets managed by BP Pakistan in September 2011. The company focuses primarily on exploration and production taking care of the whole process, from the first assessment of the site to the first production of oil and gas. UEP operations are based in the Sindh province of Pakistan. It has an onshore footprint of more than 10,000 square kilometers and the largest offshore acreage given to any single E&P company in Pakistan so far. Currently in addition to developing its upstream business the company is also developing opportunities in the other energy sectors, including wind energy.
KMI is quickly becoming the industry standard in flexible, scalable, and usable web-based software solutions that help companies operate more sustainably, safely, and efficiently. KMI enables companies to reduce injuries, increase the effectiveness of regulatory compliance initiatives, perform audits and inspections, strategically handle change requests, manage Greenhouse Gas reporting, and initiate or improve corporate sustainability programs. KMI is a trusted supplier of EHS Management Information Systems (EMIS) to global manufacturing, energy, mining, biotech, food service, and transportation companies ranging in size from under a hundred to over half a million employees.
