Implementation Specialist

KMI has an immediate need for an energetic and highly self-motivated Implementation Specialist. The suitable candidate is required to review and understand client requirements collected by KMI Business Analysts and configure KMI systems to meet those requirements. This role will also be involved in post-implementation support with the potential for in-depth troubleshooting and issue resolution within a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Responsibilites:

  • Configure new and existing systems based on client business requirements
  • Handle internal and external technical support requests and issues relating to implementations
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve system issue
  • Recognize areas for system tuning/improvements and provide recommendations
  • Authoring of clear and reproducible problem reports for product development department
  • Setup and install IT equipment and software while maintaining the IT system inventory through regular backups, upgrades, and deployments
  • Champion KMI IT system best practises and policies, work in this area for continuous improvement
  • Drive improvement in quality and demonstrate understanding/interest in emerging technologies and trends

  • Meets deadlines on aggressive schedules
  • Experience working with networking systems and principles
  • Good understanding of Microsoft 2000/XP/Vista operating systems
  • Excellent understanding of Windows 2000/2003/2007 Server installation, configuration and maintenance
  • Must have experience working with SQL database scripts, SQL queries, and XML
  • Able to perform off work hours when needed and willingness to travel to the US for installs (infrequent).

Level of Education/Experience:

  • College diploma or university degree in Information Technology or related Computer Science required
  • SQL programming-support/debugging skills
  • 2+ years Experience troubleshooting Microsoft based operating systems
  • M.C.S.E. level working experience, beneficial

Other Relevant Experience:

  • Windows SharePoint Services an asset (version 3.0 preferred)
  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Experience in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) an asset
  • Understanding of email systems including Exchange/Outlook 2000/2003
  • Exposure and basic understanding of object oriented programming

Our office is located within walking distance of great lunch spots, shops and the Go Train from downtown Toronto (a 30 minute ride). We are right off the QEW at Trafalgar Road and less than a 5 minute drive from Downtown Oakville. It is a great location to work whether you live in Toronto or any of the western suburbs.
